The summer season for tourists in Bulgaria will kick off on April 20, month and a half earlier as compared to previous years, officials surprisingly said. "This is the first time ever that the summer season is given the go-ahead that early," Aneliya Krushkova, head of the State Tourism Agency, told Darik News. Official estimates forecast a rise of 6.4% in the number of foreign tourists coming to Bulgaria this summer over the previous year, mainly thanks to the great interest from Russians. According to Krushkova the tourism sector will record a boost in revenues this year, capitalizing on the higher number of Russian tourists.
